The 1950’s TruSteel Mark II house needed a revamp by incorporating some modern improvements to create a home for a growing family and entertaining guests. The existing poorly constructed garden extension was replaced with a single storey timber clad extension, creating a larger kitchen, dining area with a sunken relationship to the garden, and a sitting space with direct access to the garden. A ground and first floor side extension was added to house a bootroom and utility and a master suite with master bathroom. The material palette consisted of brown bricks and concrete tiles to blend with the original building and silvery grey timber cladding to highlight the ground floor additions. The floor to ceiling glazed corner window connections directly to the terrace and leads you up into the blooming garden.
